Whether it is a portrait, figure or group engaged in an activity, people will always be the most fascinating subject. It is technically very demanding to get a good likeness, but the vocabulary of drawing or painting is, as always, just as important. Often it is the body language of a particular person that is more revealing rather than the details. Many of these are quick studies, finished portraits and figure paintings take many times longer and are usually completed after a number of sittings and many hours in the studio.

It is always fascinating and a privilege to get to know someone better through the process of painting them.
